Delaying the Uniforms Again

Just got this in our inbox:

Dear Parents:

Due to economic constraints, all School Uniform Parent Community Meetings are cancelled and will be rescheduled. At this time, the Board of Education of Harford County is deferring the school uniform exploration process, as well as other new initiatives, in order to focus on current budgetary issues. The Board is analyzing all current initiatives in the operating budget and realize the need to focus their energies at this time. No decisions have been made regarding school uniforms and the process will continue at a later date. As soon as that timeline is available, it will be communicated promptly. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Teri Kranefeld, manager of communications

Harford County Public Schools

The key word is "economy"...I think our disbeliefs about the state's issues is a distraction from the real problems; too much federal government control. The state across the board are dealing with problems such as the uniform debate. The federal government are the ones we need to ask the question concerning the damage they are doing on our kids. When and if slots are approved, we as a community need to fight for that money for our kids; they are Maryland's most, most , most, important asset! Maryland need to focus on Congress election so our State can get more control over issues such as the uniform debate in Hartford County. While our state is time time out because of economy reseasons, we should come together to gain more conrtol over our state where we run independent of federal government issues and lead by example.

Hmmm, could you be a bit more specific as to the "damage" the federal government is causing and just how they are responsible for the uniform debate?
